It was a GORGEOUS January Saturday when we drove up to Turner Falls with these guys for their engagement session. We were fortunate to photograph their proposal and I was so pumped when they asked Rowdy and I to photograph their wedding this June. Megan is a PNW girl, so we knew we needed something a little scenic and adventurous as the backdrop for their portraits. Insert Turner Falls! I really do love this place. It's such a gem. They laughed and goofed around and busted ou
It is no question Andrus is beautiful, but anyone who has spent even just a little bit of time with her will testify that who she is as a person is just as attractive. And maybe that's cliche to say, but it really is so true. I first met Andrus as one of the maids of honor for one of my previous brides, Brooke, who was also in Andrus' wedding party. Andrus helped round up and take care of Brooke's dogs during her engagement session, assisted her during her bridal portraits, a
Rowdy and I have been blessed to have the opportunity shoot the weddings of our long time friends and neighbors recently. Four weddings this year, to be exact. And it's pretty amazing. Dayton Elsey is one of those friends, and he and Rowdy grew up being inseparable. So many of the stories I've heard of Rowdy's childhood contain Dayton and the rest of the Elsey family, so it was a complete honor to photograph their wedding. Seeing Dayton and Angela together all day was so fun.
This is what engagement session dreams are made of, guys. The day before this it was unseasonably cold and a little cloudy, so with our plans for them to be in the water I asked if they would be interested in waiting until the next day when it was supposed to be about 15 degrees warmer and sunny, and I am SO GLAD WE DID THAT. It ended up being one of the most beautiful days of the year so far. I couldn't have asked for more from these two. From their clothing choices to the w
I'm going to start this with how Chris proposed, because I feel like it's the best thing ever. It was during a Christmas party. Addison may or may not have been dressed up in a santa suit onesie. Awesome, right? Her friends distracted her in another room while everyone got in position, and as she opened the door it dawned her what was going down. It was pretty dang funny, but for as funny as it situation was, it was even more sweet. By the reactions of their friends and famil
Backstory: I grew up being best friends with Jacobs younger sister. For so many years, he was like an annoying older brother to me, second to my own annoying older brother. So many memories of my childhood and teenage years include this dude, from basketball on the trampoline (where a fight almost always broke out between the three siblings lol), trips to Destin, playing Zelda, fishing and fireworks at the farm, and so many more. Because of his sisters friendship, I gained a
If you're reading this that means NYOMI IS A MARRIED LADY and can finally share these! I've been dying to since November! This windy, Thursday in Houston was so much fun. After Nyomi picked me up at the airport we went to her apartment where her parents were waiting and we got to chat while she got her hair and make up done. I got to know a bit about them and their family, and her dad's travels when he was younger. It's rare that I get the opportunity to talk to the parents o
Erica and Josh may have gotten married in October (to see their wedding, go here!) but we got together again earlier this month at the Dallas Arboretum for an after session- my first one!- to do some more portraits we just simply didn't have time to do on their big day. The moment Erica told me she was doing something a bit more dramatic for these portraits, and that a fur was involved, which ended up being a good call on her part because it was 30-something degrees this day,
