Photos can be stressful, especially with babies and small kiddos in the mix. My approach is to kind of cater to them, first and foremost, and navigate through sessions with loose expectations. Yes, of course, we'll do our best to get that shot of everyone smiling at the camera, but as a mom, the photos I treasure most, are the ones that show my child where he's truly at. So, let's joke, sing songs, read books, jump off of stuff, and foster curiosity and silliness. The thoughtful details like light, location, and outfit planning can simply be the things that accentuate what matters most.
