Alex and Ryan married in late September at Classic Oaks Ranch in Mansfield, TX. It was overcast most of the day, except for a few minutes during their ceremony where the sun peeked out of the clouds and shone down as their officiant spoke over them what the weight of marriage is and the unity they were about to enter into. Isn’t that cool?! I may have teared up a little. These guys have been through a lot together as a couple and their wedding day was solidifying and proclaiming what has already been in their hearts. To see the sun shine down on them for those few minutes felt so much like a token of grace on them and their future together.
Being a wedding photographer, you learn a lot about your clients, their families, the dynamics, what makes them feel confident, what doesn’t. You get a front row seat at some of their most intimate moments. Having so much suggestive power over a wedding day, over the timeline and flow, knowing that decisions you make and moments you orchestrate could be some of the most impactful to a bride and groom, it’s not something I take lightly. And I am so honored that Alex and Ryan and their families trusted me in this, that they allowed me in so personally. It’s a honor that never stops feeling like an honor.
So, on a little lighter note, if you want to do a country wedding, take notes, people. Classic, romantic, with a touch of Texas denim and boots… perfectly balanced. Totally them. Totally pretty. You MUST check out the vendor list at the end of this post because they totally deserve credit. >>
